We are a palm nursery in Cumbayá: we sell and transplant palms suited to Quito's altitude. We look after the roots, the planting and the first months, so the tree takes well and looks the way it should.
We pick the specimens at our Cumbayá nursery. They are already used to Quito's altitude, so they can go in the ground as soon as they reach the site: Canary Island date palm, washingtonia and fan palm.
We move palms within the same property or across to another project. The tree arrives alive and with its crown intact.

How we work
We come out, measure, check the soil and the access. That is when we talk through what you want.
You get the plan with species, quantities, dates and a fixed price. If something changes on site, you hear about it first.
Our own crew shows up, with whatever machinery the job calls for and their safety gear on.
We come back on scheduled visits. A new garden needs watching over the first few months.

Yes. That is our specialty: done properly, survival runs above 95%. You size the root ball to the trunk diameter, prune the roots a few weeks ahead, tie the fronds so the palm transpires less, and water it carefully for the first three months.
It depends on the height of the palm, the distance of the move and how easy the site is to access. The site visit costs nothing and gives you a fixed price with crew, substrate and follow-up included.
At the altitude of Quito and Cumbayá the Canary Island date palm (Phoenix canariensis), the washingtonia and the fan palm hold up well, because they take the cold nights and the hard midday sun. Coastal species only make it in a sheltered corner.
